The British Curriculum at the School of Scientific Innovation (SSI)

Curriculum
The School of Scientific Innovation (SSI) offers a comprehensive British curriculum, catering to the diverse needs of students in preparation for future careers and university. As a Cambridge certified school, it provides a broad range of core and compulsory subjects, including Modern Foreign Languages, Humanities, Global Perspective, and Business. The curriculum emphasizes innovation, inclusivity, and a strong foundation in ICT, Art and Design, Athletics, and Social Studies. Students are guided based on their learning preferences and cognitive abilities, ensuring a well-rounded development.
During the first steps towards scholastic life in EYFS, the Cambridge Early Years curriculum offers a holistic approach that focuses on the whole child and connects their development with the world and people around them. The learning statements reflect well-established developmental milestones for children’s learning from ages 3 to 6. Milestones can never be an accurate indicator of what every child can do. Each child has their own developmental pathway which is shaped by many factors, including their home background and experiences. A child’s current level of knowledge, understanding and skills always needs to be considered when planning their next steps. The curriculum is integrating the major six areas of Communication and Language, Creative expression , Physical Development , Emotional and Social Learning , Mathematics and Understanding of the World .
In Key Stages 1 & 2, students study a range of subjects, undergo CAT 4 exams to identify learning profiles, and benefit from dedicated Quran classes. Key Stages 3 and 4 focus on board examination preparation, with a wide-ranging curriculum that maximizes awareness of global issues, foreign languages, humanities, and core subjects. The school provides reliable formative and summative exams, along with focused counseling, to prepare students for IGCSE exams.
All students undergo standardized PT tests to monitor progress at each milestone, and CAT 4 serves as the foundation for identifying learning profiles and informing differentiation techniques. The curriculum undergoes regular reviews by stakeholders and the academic panel to stay current with equivalence requirements.
