Faith, Character & Identity: How SSI Centers Qur’an and Islamic Values in the American Curriculum
At the School of Scientific Innovation (SSI), faith and formation come first. As a SPEA-aligned American curriculum school in Sharjah, we place Qur’an, Islamic Studies, and Arabic at the center of daily learning so that character and competence grow together.
Qur’an at the heart of daily practice
Learners study Tajwīd, recitation, and memorization with specialist teachers. Short reflections (tadabbur) connect verses to everyday choices—truthfulness, responsibility, compassion—so students see how revelation guides life at school and at home.
Arabic language & identity
Arabic is taught as a living language—classical and modern standard—through meaningful texts, discussion, and writing. Strong Arabic literacy deepens understanding of Qur’anic vocabulary and strengthens bilingual communication across the curriculum.
Worship, reflection, and school culture
Daily routines include appropriate Dua’, reminders, and assemblies that highlight Islamic occasions and civic responsibility. The atmosphere is calm, respectful, and welcoming to all families, nurturing wellbeing and belonging.
Service and community life
Students participate in age-appropriate acts of Khidmah—charity drives, environmental care, and peer support—linking faith to action. They learn how generosity and stewardship build stronger neighborhoods in Sharjah and beyond.
